Nikos is a senior advisor with proficiency in risk management and deep analytics based in Athens, Greece. His global experience of 18 years in Financial Services Advisory, has extended across over 25 countries in Europe, MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, South and South-East Asia.
Since 2011, Nikos has been working for the IFC and World Bank Group, appointed to major transformation projects with banks, NBFIs and FMCGs, delivering innovative solutions around credit cycle operations and credit scoring.
He has set-up units specialized in credit underwriting, collections operations and recovery and established risk information infrastructure for proactive marketing and portfolio risk management.
Prior to his consulting career, he held several credit and risk management positions with banks and consulting firms in Greece, focusing on credit underwriting operations, collections and credit scoring models.
Nikos has executed multiple projects on optimal recovery strategies for SME and corporate portfolios of Banks under Special Liquidation, evaluation of distressed asset portfolios for leading commercial banks, and deployed his vast experience with the development, review and validation of internal credit risk rating models and credit scoring tools to maximise recoveries and optimise operational expenses.
Nikos is performance-driven and experienced in managing qualified risk analytics teams, combining strategic vision with effective portfolio management skills. He has a natural inclination to pro-actively seek and respond to opportunity in diverse situational challenges, be these accentuated by rapid growth, deteriorating market conditions or strategic turnarounds.
Nikos holds BSc in Business Administration and MSc in Banking & Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business.
