Lloyd graduated with a degree in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School Mines, with experience in gold and diamond mining in Africa. Subsequently he worked in mining finance in the City of London, at Midland Montagu; a bank that was acquired by HSBC.
At that time, Lloyd joined HSBC’s international Manager cadre and worked in senior roles in corporate and investment banking in London, North America, Asia Pacific, the Subcontinent and MENA. Later roles included Regional Head of Strategy MENA; Deputy Chief Risk Officer MENA; Country CEO roles in Kuwait and Pakistan.
In 2013, he joined Ahli United Bank as Deputy Group CEO Corporate Banking in Bahrain, and subsequently as CEO Ahlibank SAOG Oman for 4 years. Lloyd was a founder member of the Oman Banks Association, serving as Treasurer and Board Member. He retired from banking in 2021 after serving for 3 years as CEO InvestBank, UAE.
Lloyd is an active owner / investor in the Finance, Media and Mining sectors.
